1. Definitions
In these Terms & Conditions:
- "PAT Wise", "we", "us", "our" refers to PAT Wise, operating from 33 Tillingbourne Gardens, London N3 3JJ.
- "Client", "you", "your" refers to any individual or organisation engaging our services.
- "Services" refers to Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and the issuance of associated certificates.
2. Scope of Services
PAT Wise provides Portable Appliance Testing in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
Our testing includes visual inspection and, where appropriate, electrical testing of portable appliances. We will issue a certificate upon completion of testing and provide pass/fail labels for each appliance tested.
3. Bookings & Appointments
- Bookings can be made by phone, email, or through our website contact form.
- We will confirm your appointment date and estimated time of arrival via email or phone.
- We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted price.
- If our engineer is unable to gain access to the premises at the agreed time, a call-out charge may apply.
4. Pricing & Payment
- All prices quoted include VAT unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Payment is due upon completion of testing unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
- We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card, and credit card.
- If the number of appliances on-site differs significantly from the original quote, the price may be adjusted accordingly. We will discuss any changes with you before proceeding.
5. Certificates & Records
- A Certificate of Electrical Appliance Testing will be issued upon completion of testing, normally on the same day.
- Certificates are issued in digital PDF format. Hard copies can be provided upon request.
- We maintain records of all testing carried out for a minimum of 5 years.
- Duplicate certificates can be provided upon request, subject to a small administrative fee.
6. Failed Appliances
If an appliance fails testing:
- It will be clearly labelled with a "FAIL" sticker and noted on the test report.
- The appliance must be removed from use immediately until repaired or replaced.
- PAT Wise is not responsible for the repair or replacement of failed appliances.
- We can provide advice on next steps, but we are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by an appliance failing its test.
7. Client Responsibilities
- You must ensure all appliances to be tested are accessible and available on the day of the appointment.
- You must provide safe and reasonable access to the premises for our engineers.
- You are responsible for ensuring that any appliance that fails testing is taken out of service immediately.
- You must inform us of any known hazards or risks at the premises prior to our visit.
8. Limitation of Liability
- PAT testing provides a snapshot of an appliance's safety at the time of testing. We cannot guarantee that an appliance will remain safe indefinitely after testing.
- Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
- We hold public liability insurance. Details are available upon request.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of PAT Wise and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written consent.

11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
